Cage-free

Companies around the world are committing to eliminate cruel cages from their egg supply chains.

track progress

In addition to over 1000 national and regional cage-free policies, dozens of global manufacturers, hotels, supermarket chains, and food service companies have announced that they will source exclusively cage-free eggs throughout their international operations. This worldwide trend toward improved animal welfare is rapidly expanding and proving that cages will soon be history.

Hens kept in cages are unable to carry out their basic natural behaviours and this leads to immense frustration, injury, and in many cases premature death. On average, each hen is only afforded as little as 600cm2 of useable space—less than a single sheet of A4 paper on which to live her entire life.
